Appreciate

Hello again my dear friends,

Here in the Swiss Alps, winter has arrived in full force, snowy days upon snowy days, nothing short of magical! Well, if you like the snow at least. I wouldn’t mind if the sun peaked through the clouds a little more often but I’m trying to make the most of it, and anyways, I’m so busy creating pieces and working on my business that it’s really fine either way, I'm definitely not complaining. When I get the chance to enjoy the great outdoors, it always takes my breath away. It’s incredible how the snow completely changes and reshapes all the surrounding scenery that you’ve known like the back of your hand all summer and then just like that it’s an entirely different world outside, dressed in a marvellous winter coat. To be able to completely lose myself in a moment of wonder is a blessing  and to almost forget the situation that we all find ourselves in right now, even just for a short minute.

I appreciate that I'm in the fortunate situation where I'm able to walk outside my front door and find myself surrounded by nature. Although I never chose to live in the Alps, this was my husbands wish, I tried to adapt in the best way I could. I love nature, don't get me wrong, but I have always been a city girl, and it has been quite a big step for me to move to the countryside, but how very grateful I am now. I understand how life in a city must be for those of you who are living there right now, and I'm thinking of you. I hope that you find a way to make the most of your situation too. We have to make the best of what we've got.

And so, as Christmas swiftly approaches, I want to gently remind us all to be appreciative of every moment we have. Sometimes, and especially now, I think we all get caught up on what’s coming, and it can be really hard... but try to live in the moment. Let’s appreciate the little things. We all miss our friends and family, and many people are going through a hard time right now. We should try to walk in someone else's footsteps and understand why, add some love and appreciate that person. Let’s appreciate and celebrate our own little accomplishments, maybe we started to be more mindful of the way we treat the earth for example… ;) This definitely deserves some extra recognition, a sweet celebratory step towards a better future together.

I wish you all a magical Christmas, let's all come together and appreciate what we have, regardless of how this years holiday maybe doesn't resemble our previous years celebrations.

I appreciate each and every one of you, thank you for supporting me and for sticking with me even through all the craziness this year has brought.

Happy Holidays,

Xx Sheila
