"Laverne"... Sheila Westera can't help but creating many bolder rings, as it is so attractive when wearing. Especially when she finds a certain stone in a larger size, her heart starts to beats faster.. Her Pure series — allows her to create her so called more minimal statement pieces, a series that keeps growing in every size and colour, always led by the natural curves of the stone itself. A small stone becomes a smaller ring; a large, chunky one becomes something else entirely. She loved the challenge this is giving her, always working to make it wearable, beautiful, and unique. She admits, once in the creative process she doesn't always notice the size of a final design, it just asked a little more of the person wearing it. Jewellery has always come with its quiet, classic rules — and she was raised with such rules, that you wear certain jewels (or maybe most) for an occasion! Jewels should not be that practical, compare it with a special dress that you don't wear when you go shopping for groceries. It's that simple to her.
The natural, raw chunk of citrine was found at a stone dealer in New York — and it sat waiting for the right moment for some time and today she has become one-of-a-kind jewel Laverne.
