Cocktail Time
"Cocktail Time" A golden ring sitting in a jewellery box. This silver box is made up of off-cut pieces of silver, rest materials when Sheila Westera creates her pieces. For this jewel like box, she deliberately wanted a course or rough finish. The ring inside the box, is sitting on a black velvet cushion. The ring itself belonged to a dear family member, with a glass stone that was heavily damaged from wearing. Now she has a new life as a Cocktail ring and is ready to shine again. This is the third ring out of three, from her series "Holding On", made for a group exhibition The Living Trace in London. Three rings, each with a memory in the form of jewels and accessories that she kept on saucers and in boxes in her drawers for years.
