Meltdown

Ring "Meltdown"... thick black inevitability, slipping through our fingers. This ring embodies the oil industry's grip on our world—that dark, slippery surface concealing what we know: alternative inventions exist, yet powerful forces keep us utterly dependent and more. The black blob, is honest about what it represents, when truths are too thick to ignore, too slick to grasp, too deeply embedded to escape. This firm grip on our world... This sculpture is part of the "I Don't Shine, I Have Something to Say" exhibition, and the jewels are are dealing with jewels disguised as slime or in this case oil, which won Sheila three awards at the Venice Designweek, during the Venice Biennale 2025.
