Blues

'Blues'... A wonderful and truly special combination of colours and textures, which is referring to the Jazz era. When Sheila listens to music when she creates, sometimes she is inspired by it. In ring Blues, she definitely was inspired by some special Jazzy tunes. This wonderful unique ring, incorporates a very pink pearl, that sits underneath a glorious rutile quartz, in a rare kite shape, where as on the other side you can admire a perfectly polished, fresh coloured turquoise. You will also find a matt, speckly, Dalmatian Jasper which is playing the centre part. This unusual designed ring, was actually inspired by the "Empress of the Blues", Bessie Smith, one of the most popular female blues singers in the 1920's and 1930's. Bessie was different, and simply amazing, with a lot of edge, only far from excepted by everyone in these dark, segregated times. but she became quite successful by reaching more audience by recording her music, something quite unique at the time. She became a great influencer of Luckily her music spread, and inspired many modern day artists, and my inspiration for this jewel, and so my ode to this incredible pioneer.
